Devin O'Branagan's new novel, RED HOT PROPERTY, was released this week! It is an awesome book. It is a seriocomic tale of two rookie real estate agents: single mom Molly O'Malley, and a gay man who calls himself "The Queen of Real Estate". And, of course, there is the office mascot, Talisman DeMitiri, a gorgeous Australian shepherd. The novel deals with many important issues, including the stance of the Catholic Church on homosexuality and the humane treatment of animals.

While you're there check out the Best Friends Charity Raffle. The winner of the raffle will have their pet featured in this novel's sequel, RED HOT. The winning animal's name and likeness will be used as a character in the new book. The winner will be either Talisman's friend or foe, romantic interest or romantic rival. It's going to be a lot of fun for all involved, and the animals at Best Friends Sanctuary will benefit the most.
One of the things I like best about Devin O'Branagan's latest novel, RED HOT PROPERTY, is that she once again deals with the subject of persecution. Valentino DeMitri is a gay, Catholic man who is not allowed to practice his religion because of rules of the Catholic Church. She told me that the character was inspired by two gay men she encountered in her life.
The first was a gay man who was so tortured by the fact he had been told that God hated him because he was gay, he committed suicide. Devin had tried to assure him that, in her view of such things, God loved everyone and what mattered most to God was each individual's capacity to love others. But her assurances to Andy didn't outweigh the unloving pronouncements of those in authority in his family and in his church. God bless Andy's soul...
The other was a young man who used to come to Catholic mass every Sunday and simply stand at the back of the church and cry. He would slip out when communion began. Devin asked the priest about the young man and was told it was because the church wouldn't allow him to practice his faith, because he was gay.
Appalled at this medieval way of thought, Devin makes a strong, emotional case for the rights of gays to practice whatever faith to which they feel drawn.
Please read RED HOT PROPERTY and see how the character deals with this heartbreak: www.RedHotProperty.com
On Wednesday, June 25th: NBC Today Show host Kathy Lee Gifford began a sentence by saying "The Pagans, the nasty, bad, Pagans, believed ..."
Now, how about that objective journalism there, folks!?
This is how the witch hunts begin.
Please read WITCH HUNT by Devin O'Branagan. It is dedicated to all those who have been, and continue to be, persecuted in the name of religion...
Devin O'Branagan is planning a sequel to her latest novel, RED HOT PROPERTY. It's going to be called RED HOT and she is having a charity raffle to benefit Best Friends Animal Society, the world's largest sanctuary for homeless, abandoned, and abused animals: www.bestfriends.org. The winner of the raffle will have their pet's name and likeness used as a character in her new novel, RED HOT. To find out details about how to enter please go to www.RedHotNovel.com. Click on the Best Friends Raffle tab at the top and it will tell you all the details. It is an amazing, worthy cause. Anyone who loves animals needs to know about this. Please spread the word!
Okay, this is part two in my attempt to get caught up recreating my deleted account. Yikes! Good thing I like working on the Internet!
Another website I recently created was www.WitchHuntNovel.com. It is the official website for the rare, out-of-print classic Wiccan novel by Devin O'Branagan, called WITCH HUNT. It is a multi-generational saga about a family of witches, that takes them from their persecution during the Salem witch trials, to a modern-day, fundamentalist Christian-inspired witch hunt. The research is amazing and--since wicca is my own religion--I know my stuff. So, apparently, does Devin. It is breathtaking in its accuracy and its spiritual and magical insights.
The amazing cover won an award as one of the best covers of the year. It was designed by the famous artist Keith Birdsong, who designs many of the STAR TREK book covers.
It has adult content, however, and should be only read by adults. Lots of sex and violence, but that was the nature of the persecutions, I guess.
Anyway, I have so much to say that I need to do it in short bursts or I will be overwhelmed. Please check back as I continue with the saga of recreating the massive blog that was vanquished by some evil power.
Hmmmm? I wonder if there's a novel in that?
